Building a Brighter Future: A Staff Member's Story of Transformation
Edola
Four years ago, Edola joined the Espwa Means Hope family as a security guard. But his dedication extends far beyond his job title. Edola embodies versatility, always willing to lend a hand, if he sees a need he will jump in to help out.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Espwa has been able to provide Edola with a living wage for the past four years. Through his diligence and responsible saving, Edola was able to achieve a dream: purchasing his own land. Today, not only does he have a stable home, but he's also a married man, and soon to be a father! It is a full circle moment as Espwa will be able to provide his wife with education and support during and after her pregnancy.
Edola's story is a testament to the power of hope. Because of your contributions, Espwa empowers individuals like Edola to move from poverty to a flourishing life. Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey!
Anjè Update
As you know, Haiti continues to navigate a period of instability. Anjè our founder, is currently based in the States. This hasn't stopped her from passionately working to bring hope to Haiti!
While away from Haiti, Anjè works tirelessly for our mission. She communicates daily with Verdette - entirely in Kreyol! She balances nurturing connections with friends and her young adult children with an inspiring pursuit of knowledge. Anjè is working tirelessly on her studies to become a midwife!
This dedication to learning reflects the core of Espwa Means Hope. Anjè understands that growth, both personal and professional, fuels our ability to empower others. Her journey as a midwife will undoubtedly equip her with even greater tools to serve the Haitian community.

Welcome Verdette, Our New Country Director
For over four years, Verdette has been an invaluable member of the Espwa Means Hope family. Her dedication and motivation are truly inspiring!
Verdette's expertise extends far beyond a single role. She skillfully teaches the art of sewing, empowering individuals with valuable skills for self-sufficiency. Her nurturing spirit also translates beautifully into the preschool classroom, where she fosters a love of learning and music in our littlest kiddos.
Verdette's commitment goes above and beyond her specific roles. We are incredibly fortunate to have her overseeing the day-to-day operations at Espwa. Her dedication ensures our organization runs smoothly, allowing us to focus on what matters most: empowering our community through maternal health care, job creation, and education.
We are thankful for Verdette and all her hard work!

Prayer Requests
Espwa’s staff continued safety, and provision, at times the gangs get near to the village, and food prices are extremely high.
Anjè, as she communicates only in Kreyol with Verdette. God has blessed her with the ability to speak Kreyol but it is challenging at times to think and problem-solve in a foreign language.
Verdette, as she runs the day-to-day operations of Espwa. Nothing is easy in Haiti and she is moving into leadership during a difficult time in her country. Please pray for strength and wisdom for her.
Peace and restoration for the people of Haiti. Kenya and other Caribbean countries are sending a multinational security support team to help Haitian police regain control from the gangs, especially in the capital.
